The First Federated Republican Women’s Club of Clay County is in the 6th District and was founded in 1946, remaining active for over 70 years in the Kansas City area. Sandi Clark is the 35th elected President of the club and we have several club members who have been active for more than 25 years. We have lots of experience in supporting the national, state, and local Federations and we are all active in supporting the local GOP groups. Four of our members currently hold elected offices in Kansas City or Clay County, and two other members are currently running for Missouri State Representative positions.
We normally meet on the fourth Monday of the month at the North Cross United Methodist Church. We occasionally have special membership events at a local restaurant and we always have a September picnic at a local park. In December, our meeting shifts to a Saturday lunch for holiday fellowship. We welcome friends and family and anyone else, male or female, who wants to learn more about Republican issues.
Our mission is to inform and educate which is reflected in our choice of programs. We always try to have as many political candidates as possible speak to our members, most recently hosting a Senate Forum with Kristi Nichols, Austin Petersen, Courtland Sykes, and Toni Monetti. We also review and discuss every ballot issue before every election. We want our members to go to the polls informed and ready to vote.
Our club also has a passion for supporting local charities. We donate regularly to a local Thrift Store and a local Food Pantry and we are often involved in Veteran’s projects, including Warrior’s Best Friend and Wreaths Across America. We are busy ladies!
