Hello to the MoFRW Board of Directors!
Thursday, September 26th, we will be 40 DAYS FROM ELECTION DAY!! Time seems to be flying by. We have so much to do, and so much at stake, with so little time. Please continue to FIGHT FOR AMERICA! 🥊
I would like to introduce you to a new MoFRW initiative: 40 Days to Fast & Pray. I ask you to please share this information with all club members so they can participate if they choose to.
We are not only in a huge battle to save our constitutional representative republic; we are in a spiritual war. We know this from the evil we see everywhere that is endorsed by many in the political class (which includes the press), our educational institutions at all levels, morality that’s been turned upside down, and even the wokeness in too many churches and denominations. Have you noticed how the Democrat candidate for president, Kamala Harris, keeps repeating the catchphrase, “We can see what is possible, unburdened by what has been.” Does she mean unburdened by our U.S. Constitution, our Founding Fathers, and our Judeo-Christian structure of government that seeks to preserve our God given rights? I believe that’s exactly what she is saying based on other rhetoric she has espoused. It’s similar to Barack Obama’s, “We are five days away from fundamentally changing the United States of America.” Of course the press did not ask him what he meant by that, but we sure found out that he meant to destroy our country and what it stands for. Don’t count the press to ask Harris either. We have to believe they mean what they say.
One very important part of all we are doing to work for victory in this election is to turn to God in prayer. Hence this opportunity to join together to petition The Almighty for His mercy in an intentional and profound way. The battle for the defeat of Amendment 3 on our Missouri ballot has led me to reach out to you and others with this initiative. We are fighting against the odds and need supernatural intervention and strength. Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
The Bible refers to “40 Days” over 100 times in the Old and New Testaments, so it is significant.
Matthew 4:1-2 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting for 40 days and forty nights, he was hungry.
1 Kings 19:8-9 So he (Elijah) got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled for forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
Exodus 24:18 Then Moses entered the cloud as he went up on the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
This is the 40 Days to Fast & Pray structure. Individuals have the flexibility to make it work for themselves.
1) Fasting: Fasting helps to center our focus on God and to appreciate His provision. This is not referring to giving up all food and drink for 40 days. As with Lent, give up something you will truly miss, like a certain food or food group (chocolate, desserts, …) or drink (soda, alcohol, coffee, …), or even all social media (or limit to 15-30 minutes a day).
2) Always start with Praising God, followed by confession (self and country). The Lord hears the prayers of those with a clean heart. This puts God above all in our lives and humbles us, proving our need for, and dependence on, Him.
3) Break the 40 days into subjects to focus on. Here is a suggestion.
Days 1-7: Pray over the names and traits of God (Holy, Creator, Healer, Savior, Lord, King, Almighty, Teacher-Rabi, etc.). God set up three institutions: Church (to teach), family (to nurture and support), and government (to protect).
Days 8-14: Pray for God’s Church, both here in America and around the world. It needs revival.
Subcategories: Religious freedom; taking back responsibility for the culture; throwing off political fear to teach morality; teaching Truth; unifying the various races; loving our neighbors; valuing all life.
Days 9-21: Pray for the Family. As an institution it is broken and needs to be rebuilt.
Subcategories: Pray for parents and the value two parent households; for valuing children; the end of abortion, and the defeat of Amendment 3 that would remove parental rights and devalue children and women; for fathers to reclaim biblical authority; removing the government’s control of the family and to accept its role to protect it.
Days 22-28: Pray for our government. The United States, while not a theocracy, was founded on biblical principles and law and order. The enemy has been tearing this structure down for decades.
Subcategories: each branch of government – executive, legislative, judicial; just law and order; military strength and preparedness; the Lord’s protection over our land; adherence to the US Constitution.
Days 29-35: Pray for the 2024 election.
Subcategories: security from foreign interference; security from interference or influence from any of our government agencies; for the absence of voter fraud in any state; candidates and ballot issues on the Missouri ballot; Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, Josh Hawley and their families; for the absence of riots and destruction.
Days 36-40: Pray for all the above and specifically for our 2024 ELECTION VICTORY to include the saving of our constitutional representative republic.
I encourage everyone’s participation in the 40 Days to Fast & Pray initiative, but of course, it is optional. I also encourage participating members to get a group together to spread the initiative. I have a group from my church that has agreed to meet every week to fast and pray together using the initiative. Maybe Life-groups or neighborhood groups (a prayer walk?) or even families would like to participate.
Remember our MoFRW verse for 2024 is from 2 Chronicles 7:14-15. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” This is an opportunity to pray for our country, our land, every day for 40 days. Please, Lord, heal our land.
